during the Cameroons Campaign via the nearest British post office
at Ibi, Northern Nigeria, manuscript and redirected markings
showing complex routing and redirection across wartime Nigeria,
cancelled at IBI 23.12.15 where the 5pf German stamp was voided,
then via WARRAGUM N. NIGERIA 6.1.16, ZARIA N. NIGERIA 8.1.16,
received at LAGOS 12.1.16, forwarded to WARRI 13.1.16, returned to
LAGOS 28.1.16, redirected again and finally received at CALABAR
19.2.16, card remained postage-free as sent during active service,
rich postal history piece documenting internal British military
communication in WWI West Africa, includes note on rounding up
remaining German forces, and written message describes extensive
troop movement and altitude/weather conditions at Banyo (7000 ft,
44 degrees at 7 30 a.m.), important historical context of
converging British, French and Belgian forces that led to German to
flee southwards into Spanish territory, surrender and internment in
